O verdadeiro criador de tudo – como o cérebro esculpiu o universo como o conhecemos
É professor do Departamento de Neurobiologia e codiretor do Centro de Neuroengenharia da Duke University (EUA). Lidera grupos de pesquisadores que empregam as ferramentas computacionais da robótica e da neuroengenharia para desenvolver neuropróteses capazes de restaurar a mobilidade de pacientes paralisados por trauma ou degeneração do sistema nervoso central. Também estuda os mecanismos neurofisiológicos e possíveis novas terapias para a doença de Parkinson.
Ao longo de sua carreira, ganhou 44 prêmios internacionais, tendo sido apontado pela Revista Scientific American, em 2004, como um dos 20 maiores cientistas da atualidade. É autor dos livros "Muito além do nosso eu: a nova neurociência que une cérebros e máquinas – e como ela pode mudar nossas vidas"; "Made in Macaíba – a história da criação de uma utopia científico-social no ex-império dos Tapuias" e "O cérebro relativístico – como ele funciona e por que ele não pode ser simulado por uma máquina de Turing".

Interdependência e impermanência
Monja Coen Roshi iniciou seus estudos budistas no Zen Center de Los Angeles. Foi ordenada monja em 1983, ano em que foi para o Japão. Lá, dedicou-se à vida religiosa por 12 anos, tendo se graduado no mestrado da tradição Sotoshu.
Retornou ao Brasil em 1995 e liderou as atividades do Templo Bushinji. Em 1997, foi a primeira mulher e primeira pessoa de origem não-japonesa a assumir a presidência da Federação das Seitas Budistas do Brasil por um ano. Atualmente, é missionária oficial da Tradição Sotoshu de Zen Budismo, com sede no Japão.

Dymetman é coordenadora da Casa de Mediação e professora da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade São Judas Tadeu. Doutora em Sociologia pela USP, mestre em Sociologia, graduada em Ciências Sociais e em Artes Plásticas pela Universidade de Haifa (Israel), é também autora de "Da mediação à transmediação de conflitos: dissolver para resolver".
